First time seeing these guys live, and I am definitely hooked now. It was an amazing show with so much energy! Only song missing from the line up that I really wanted to hear was Ill With Want, but I heard a bunch of stuff that I hadn't before so I have a whole new list of favorites. Thanks for putting on one hell of a show guys, and I will make sure to be there anytime you make it down to South Carolina again. Charleston could sure use a visit...

This was an awesome concert! The cooler fall weather was great because the band had the crowd standing and rocking with their energetic music and playing.
The band was gracious enough to play a two song encore to the delight of us fans who wanted the music to continue as long as possible. Although I loved all the songs, my two favorites of the evening were "Murder in the City" and "I and Love and You". Can't wait to hear them again!

please please please play at the beach Smiling

I am super excited for this!!!

We have just recently been getting calls about a rumor about this show being cancelled and I am here to absolutely dispel those rumors!

I work full-time here at the SC State Fairgrounds and I am in charge of the Grandstand during the annual run of the fair. I am actually the one who is responsible for pushing to get them to come this year since no one else in our office had heard of them. So, please help in getting the word out that the SHOW WILL GO ON WEDNESDAY!

@Badlydrawnwoman: you are correct that we were selling our admission tickets at half price prefair and they are now $10. You do need to purchase admission as well as a concert ticket. If you buy the tickets from our website (scstatefair.org) and print them from the computer then there are five $1.00 coupons for concessions out here at the fair! And like you said the lowest price for an Avett Brothers ticket at any other venue MAY BE $30, but that would probably just get you in the nosebleed section. We are a 5000 seat venue that doesn't have a bad seat in the house!

Thanks for helping get the word out and we'll see everyone THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT!!!

Thanks for the info. also, apparently that facebook page is stating that the tickets are 50 dollars. I invited some friends via facebook, and they all said they couldnt afford the tickets (I redirected them of course). but that is kinda lame. something strange going on with the facebook event page, not sure what is up.

Could you add some somewhere to me.

There is now a new facebook page for this show, but it is not listed on their myspace page. If they were gonna cancel, would they wait until this close to showtime? I really hope it does not get canceled.

What is this talk of this show being canceled? You guys are making me nervous.

They are still selling tickets on the State Fair website. Hope it is not cancelled!

So you also need fair admission? I was thinking that the venue was seperated from the fair.

If anyone's clicking "BUY" above and getting confused as to where/how to actually buy tickets...try this link instead. Smiling

Also, remember to buy your actual SC State Fair admission ticket early. The fair opens next week and gate prices will be $10/person, however, you can currently buy tix in advance for just $5/person from Bi-Lo supermarkets as well as the State Fair's website. Save that extra $5 and get you a corndog or a snowcone, deep-fried, perhaps Sticking out tongue

My advice is simple: experience these artists.

I ordered a ticket and got a decent seat, but I wouldn't mind upgrading. If anyone has anything in the first few rows and cannot go, please message me.

hey brad-- nothing about the state fair interests me, but i'll make an exception when the avett's come to town! this is the layout if it helps at all, but the show is reserved seating.

Has anyone ever been to this venue? Just wondering if floor tickets will allow me to get as close as possible, or if they have a pit.

just saw them in Myrtle Beach, going to be in Cola too...jacked about it!

I finally get to see you guys! Just got 2 tickets! Can't WAIT!

Hey Avetts! Can I open for you again?

i am so excited about this show! october 20 can't get here fast enough!

facebook event for avett brothers show in cola: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=111398115580563

EDIT: the event was deleted for some reason. Sad

hey everyone. i don't think the show was canceled. perhaps they don't allow just anyone to set up an event? if you'll notice, the new event was created by "concertin". that page is here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=122910931091862. apparently they're selling overpriced tickets. you should go directly to the sc state fair website and purchase them if you haven't already. i think the concertin site is bogus.

also, yes, you still have purchase a ticket for admission, and i just found out they are NOW $10! they were $5 until the day the fair began. oh well, i feel like the avett brothers are worth $30 and then some! best live performance i've ever seen, and i just turned 50 so i've seen a lot. Smiling
