We are up near Cleveland but I think we are going to make the trek for this. It's only just over an hour from where hubby's family lives in PA so we can drop the kids off to grandma's and head down.
Now I hope this presale thing works out! I've never tried it before and I heard there are lots of glitches.
@ bdiddy- Nothn says fun like dropp'n the kids off at Grandma's house. Can't wait for the Morgantown show ! Btw, I've purchased presale tickets a bunch of times and never had a problem. Sure hope they announce Pittsburgh, Cleveland, C-bus, or even Akron. Heading to the Alabama shows soon!!!!!!!
If the presale tix go on sale Tues, when will we get the password? On Monday? And will it be good for all those different shows? Like how do they know which show you want?
I've gotten some of the passwords before but it seems kind of random. I got one for the Tulsa show recently but it's been a long time since I got one before that I think.
We've only been to one show that we got last minute through the public sale but I'd really like to try to get good seats this time.
buzz kill- are you in Ohio? We are actually closer to Akron than Cleveland but hubby is from Latrobe.
The email with the presale passwords usually comes out around 8 am the day of the presale. Yes, it is the same login for all the shows that have presale that day. I thought there was usually a News item here announcing a coming presale, but I could be wrong. I've only seen an announcement for this presale on FB.
I think that you have to be signed up for the newsletter at least the day before the presale to get the email. It seems like a lot of folks sign up the day *of* the presale and then post that they did not get the email.
I have another question I thought of this morning. So obviously I'm going to be ready to get the presale tickets as soon as they go on sale. When I pick 2 tickets do you just do 'best available' and buy whatever comes up? Is there time to look for different tickets or do you just have to buy the first ones that come up?
I'm so torn! Do I drive 3.5 hours to Morgantown for a small venue but have to get a hotel OR 3.75 hours to Portsmouth for an outdoor, much bigger 6,500 venue but where I have a place to stay? Decisions decisions....What would you guys do?
@Kws MORGANTOWN! These up close and personal shows are few and far between. I live in Pittsburgh so it's only a 1 1/2 hour drive for me. I'll be driving 14 hours to see both Alabama shows only because we have a free place to stay. I think i may need mental help.
I would go to both if I could but otherwise I'd probably go for Portsmouth because I like to have a GA spot. With GA I'm pretty sure I can get up front by waiting in line. I never do well in presales for reserved seats so I'm partial to GA. Although with only 1,400 seats Morgantown will probably be a really nice show wherever your seat is.
The Facebook post on the TAB page is for the Artist Arena presale tomorrow. The email with the login info for that presale should go out tomorrow morning to folks signed up on this site for the newsletter. I think the ticketmaster presale is separate.
buzzkill - I *know* I need mental help. But I will be much better with a show on my calendar.
I feel sick! I totally screwed up. I had 2 tickets in the 5th row but they were all the way over to one side so I hit to try again and they were gone that quick! I'm so mad at myself now. Oh well....this was my first time doing this so I guess lesson learned for last time!
Did anyone have problem getting tickets from the pre-sale? I have never had a problem before but by the time I entered the number of tickets I wanted it said it was already sold out. This was at 1200.
I didn't have a problem getting in but I was constantly refreshing. I just lost them like an idiot! Ugh!!! I'm seriously so mad at myself I could scream!
keep refreshing. they release the presale in batches, so you still might be able to get some. there are only 200 presale tix for morgantown, so they will go fast....
I just replied to a reply or something wacky. Anyway, I agree with k-squared, keep refreshing. They will likely release more although singles may be your best bet right now. I just saw some available a few minutes ago, but not two together. There's always the public sale, so don't fret too much!
I was able to get row K. A friend of mine wasn't able to get any tickets at first, and just kept refreshing for 5 or 6 minutes and then was able to get 2 tickets at about 12:06 and got Row H! Don't give up!
Went on at 12:00 placed order at 12:01 couldn't get 4 so I went back to get 2 at 12:02 and it said all tickets were sold out. Now the cheapest ticket I can find online is $150.00 for back row....well this sucks.
apparently making presale tix "will call only" and all the warnings about pick-up name changes not being allowed means absolutely nothing because obviously they can still be scalped if there are already tix on e-bay or stubhub......
I just went and read the FAQ's on ticketmaster and it says that if it says "fanclub presale" it is whatever password is provided to you buy the artist. It said that Ticketmaster does not give out the passwords. So, I'm guessing it's the same one??
I've been all over the internet and can't find anything about a presale password for ticketmaster tomorrow.
I emailed Artist Direct who did the presale today and this is the response I got...
"There will be different codes required for the Ticketmaster pre sale. Unfortunately, Artist Arena is not affiliated with The Avett Brothers' fan club and has no information as to what the new codes will be."
So, who the heck knows what it will be? I'm going to keep looking and will try tomorrow.
I know for other concerts from other artists like this.... the first day is the fanclub presale, the second day is the venue/radio presale, and then the open sale.
I called the venue and the girl said they've had tons of calls today about the Ticketmaster presale tomorrow and she said they don't have anything to do with that either. So, who knows where the heck this password would come from? If it's not the same one as today or the venue isn't giving one out I don't know what it would be??
Well...that was no help. They had no clue. All they have is that their is a presale at 10am tomorrow and a password is required. I asked where that password is coming from and they said they don't have that info. They said the IT people have the passwords and obviously don't give them out. I said that I'm not looking for them to tell me the password, I just want to know where it comes from. Like the artist, the venue, etc... and they couldn't tell me anything.
I'm so bummed. I'm hoping things go ok for the public sale Friday.
Replies for this Board Topic
I was wondering the same thing. I checked the venue website and regular ticket sales start 2/3 so I imagine presale would be some time next week.
Edit- Facebook page says presale for the April dates starts Tuesday 1/31!
I am sooo excited about this!!

Grandma, what big ears you have.
All the bettter to listen to The Avett Brothers!

Awesome - thank you! I've been signed up for awhile so hopefully I should be ok.
@bdiddy- I live about 15 miles north of Pittsburgh

Cannot wait I live in Chapmanville, WV about two and a half hours away. So glad they are coming to my home town.
I read up on the venue and that place only holds 1500 people. Going to sell out fast I bet.

Do yall know for sure when the presale starts? It says tuesday on facebook and tickmaster says wednesday.

@ buzzkill, PM'ed you (just noticed from a while back)
Well, that presale didn't last long. This is the first time I wasn't able to get presale tickets. Didn't even last one minute.
I feel sick! I totally screwed up. I had 2 tickets in the 5th row but they were all the way over to one side so I hit to try again and they were gone that quick! I'm so mad at myself now. Oh well....this was my first time doing this so I guess lesson learned for last time!

Lucky enough to get 2 orchestra pit seats!!!!!! Woooo Hoooo! Thank you!!!!
I was able to get row K. A friend of mine wasn't able to get any tickets at first, and just kept refreshing for 5 or 6 minutes and then was able to get 2 tickets at about 12:06 and got Row H! Don't give up!
OMG - are you guys serious! Ugh! I just left the page. Almost all of them said sold out right away but I notice the others are all available again.
It's 30 min after now, do you think they are all gone now? How long should I keep trying?
The tix I had and lost were row E, seats 9 and 10 or something like that. DAMNIT!!!!
I noticed on Ticketmaster it says that there is a presale tomorrow at 10am, does anyone know what that is about?
It does keep saying 'buy tickets' again but nothing will show up for 2 tickets together.
Went on at 12:00 placed order at 12:01 couldn't get 4 so I went back to get 2 at 12:02 and it said all tickets were sold out. Now the cheapest ticket I can find online is $150.00 for back row....well this sucks.
Man they keep coming up and going away so fast. Guess I am out of luck! :-/
TicketMaster presale is tomorrow @ 10 am if that helps.
Do you have to have a password for that? Or is it the same one we got?
Yeah how does that work buzzkill?
apparently making presale tix "will call only" and all the warnings about pick-up name changes not being allowed means absolutely nothing because obviously they can still be scalped if there are already tix on e-bay or stubhub......

Ya, not real sure how that works. I'm going to try and get 2 more tix tomorrow for a friend of mine. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
It doesn't say anything about a password. Just click on buy tix tomorrow at 10.
suny how do you get the password for tomorrow?
I've been all over the internet and can't find anything about a presale password for ticketmaster tomorrow.

Ticketmaster pre-sale has been taken down. Not an option now.
Yeah, I just noticed too. There probably never was one. Maybe me trying to find out about it alerted them to the mistake or something?
