Reaction to Band T-shirts

Thought this might be an interesting discussion. Have you ever had any type of random reaction from a stranger when wearing any band's t-shirt / hat, etc?

The only really random encounter I've had was when wearing a Josh Ritter t-shirt, a stranger stopped me in the street and asked if he is John Ritter's son.

I've had only one experience with my Avett Bros. and Bob Marley tees, and both were just "Nice shirt! I love them."

I've gone up and expressed my love for other people's band shirts as well. Have yet to hear or say anything interesting or get into good conversations.

I have the David Mayfield shirt that is a silhouette of his lovely bearded face wearing his thick rimmed glasses. My husband has a beard and wears similar glasses. We were at Chipotle and the guy working there asked if that was my husband on my shirt.

That's awesome! I regret not picking up one those mustache koozies at a David Mayfield show. There was a guy in the audience at the same show with a similar beard and glasses and he bought one and wore it the whole time.

I've only gotten a comment once and it wasn't exactly a stranger. My 15 year old daughter and I were at the grocery store and the clerk happened to be a friend of hers from school. The clerk looked at me and said "Oh, The Avett Brothers are great! I love that band!". At first I forgot that I had my t shirt on and assumed my daughter had been telling her school friends how crazy I was, but then I remembered the shirt Smiling The clerk is a few years older than my daughter so as a bonus my daughter thought I was almost cool for a couple of seconds.

I took my son to Shiners Hospital for problems with his feet and I had my TAB tavern bag. First thing the Dr said when she walked in was "You like The Avett Brothers too!" We ended up talking about them for most of the appointment.

I got a lot of disapproving looks, but no comments that I recall, when I used to wear my Nirvana shirt with the naked couple on it. I sold that sucker on ebay for a ridiculous amount of money a few years back. Best 10 dollar investment ever.

Last summer my family went to the Rushmore Caves while we were vacationing in the Black Hills. While waiting for our tour to start, my husband struck up a conversation with a gal wearing an Avett shirt! (Because I was too shy Sad )
