Ten Thousand Words

Ten Thousand Words

Has anyone heard this one live? I can listen to it over and over and over and be completely mesmerized by it.

I've scoured the Inter-webs looking for any live version and it is not to be found.

I'm praying they do this at the Ryman...how perfect would that be?

Anyway.....has anyone heard it live? It must be heaven!

I've been so busy gobblling it up I forgot to thank you!! LOL THANK YOU!!!!!

Oh I soooooooooooooo hope they do this. I can't say it's my favorite (seriously, I can't even pick a favorite album/CD let alone a favorite song!) lol but it's probably tied with about 12 others. Smiling

I've seen it live, twice. It brought me to tears. Even better live, than recorded.

I have rules. Never eat or drink in underwear or pajamas/Scott Avett

Anyone have any ideas on the meaning of the song?

Me too (same shows!) It is amazing, and I agree. Def. one of my favorites from I&L&U. Not sure why it was only in rotation for such a short time and taken back out. Maybe so they can keep it fresh and bring some of these newer songs (It Goes On and On, Incomplete and Insecure, Ill With Want) in little by little? Ill With Want seems to be making it in, but I still haven't seen it. odd.
I know there is a thread on the possible meanings, though obviously we are all speculating.
Found it: http://www.theavettbrothers.com/us/forums/interpreting-ill-want

side note: even if though the search button isn't working, you can still find most things in google, and a shortcut (as katminelli mentioned earlier) is to add "site:theavettbrothers.com/us/forums" plus whatever you're looking for into google, then it only searches this site.

I will keep my wits about myself, disregard directions sent from hell.

This is the ONE song I haven't heard live off of I&L&Y. I'd gladly trade a SFOS's and a January Wedding for one live 10K Words -- heck, I might even throw in a Laundry Room! (Maybe.)

LOL Aerix. I'd throw in a Laundry Room. As much as I love it, I've heard it every way to Sunday, versus NO Ten Thousand Words. I'm hoping in Nashville they'll do it since it's such an acoustic hall...and they are there two nights.

I have been dying to hear this song seeing as its one of my favorite Avett songs. I havent been to as many shows since I and Love and You released. Just the New Years stretch (Knox,Ash,Atl) and then Merlefest...which doesnt really matter since it hasnt been played any during that time period from what ive read on the setlists. However, I am going to the 2nd night at the Ryman, so maybe they will please both of us Carly.

... is that enough for ya?

I really feel so happy that crackerfarm or Seth or Scott came here and read my thread and gave me this:

They played it on the Friday night show of the 3 days at the House of Blues in Myrtle! it was so incredible and unexpected because Bob played mandolin on it, and that was set up and I had no idea what was coming up and they just went into Ten Thousand Words and it was very appropriate and just amazing!

I can't wait to see Bob on mandolin....and of course Ten Thousand Words...

Here's the video from the Friday night HOB show...complete with mandolin.
