Where to start????

I saw my first Avett show in October of 2007 at a festival. It was almost a fluke actually...kind of stumbled upon them. I was instantly drawn in. The crowd of about 50 dirty folks on that insanely hot Saturday was dumb-founded. Everyone was up off their ass dancing and listening intently. From that day on, I was hooked. I have seen several shows, as many as I can get to, and read every article I can possibly get my hands on.

What I love about Scott and Seth's music is the extremely intricate simplicity and I mean that in the best way possible. I have never heard words sung (and written I imagine) with such conviction and true meaning...well, I wouldn't say never, but it's been a long time. Scott has a way of literally singing to everyone in the room; making you feel like you're a part of this thing bigger than......Seth reals you in, gets your attention, and then busts out incendiary styl-ings that sometimes make me have a physical reaction. Love those.

I honestly could go on and on and on......I haven't found a band in years that speaks to me the way their music does. I can't wait to see what their future holds.

Like I said...I'm smitten.
