I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...I'm a true country girl. The city I live in now doesn't compare to my little two stoplight town, and The Avetts are the soundtrack to my life of city blues. Like me, their lyrics are full of hope, longing, shame, regret, pain, and joy but above all love. Every time I listen to these boys I find a new favorite line. The way their harmonies intertwine and their voices break is the imperfect perfection I've come to love.They epitomize the southern approach to life- aggressively but honestly and graciously. When I see them and listen to them it heals my heart. And who doesn't like a good banjo?
