Haha. Actually I posted the setlist and it didn't show. So I posted again and forgot to add the note. But what evs. I don't care about points...just that the setlist is archived
likely story, you know you want the 25.

I love that they played 3 songs from The Second Gleam in a row, and what a combo! I still hope to catch I Would Be Sad someday.
Good catch Blasto. I didn't even notice the 2nd Gleam hat-trick in there upon first glance. Also I'm glad to see Ill With Want in the set. I'm crossing fingers and toes for that as well as It Goes On and On tomorrow in Nashville. I haven't seen those two yet off of the new album.....And I always still hold out a faint hope for some Pretty Girl at the Airport...maybe someday
Great set list though!

I wanna live, and I want you to live happy and free
Bham,
I was playing a bunch of Avetts on my guitar tonight, and as I played "If It's The Beaches", I got the strange feeling it would show up in the set tonight. I'd like think I willed it with the power of my guitar!
BhamAvettFan, I second all of your hopes for tomorrow night's show! (plus Incomplete & Insecure because I've only heard that soundchecked, not at an actual concert).
My friend and I were lucky enough to meet the guys after they played at WFPK this afternoon. I asked if they would maybe play Bella Donna or If It's The Beaches tonight. I was kind of stunned when they played both.
A very awesome first show for us, not to mention being in the front row. They're class acts for sure.
I and Love and You was Scott on banjo and Seth on guitar. It was a beautiful version.
Blasto, will you play If It's The Beaches tomorrow night too?

Nothing's good because nothing lasts. And all that comes, it comes here to pass.
I would voice my pain, but the change wouldn't last.
All that comes, it comes here to pass.
I can't believe how good that show was. If it's the beaches for an encore... amazing. I may have to drive to Nashville.
Believe that Perfct Space was in there too....the guys seemed to get a kick out of Seth having a hard time with the tune of the electric guitar during it.
looked like fun guys. The acoustic I and Love and You must have been a treat.
Black, Blue and If It's The Beaches floored me.

Kill the doubt that strangles my self worth
Paint the picture that I swore I heard
I&L&U sans drums was pretty neat. Ill With Want was also a treat. I'm just disappointed that security made me stop recording. Damn the man!

"I wonder which brother is better, which one our parents love the most...he said I love you and I'm proud of you both in so many different ways."
Perfect Space followed Bella Donna. It was the electric version of Greatest Sum.
Also, that Black, Blue, Bella Donna, Perfect Space sequence nearly killed me. Poor Lauren had to hold my ass up.

lildeadhead: that pen she uses to keep her setlists? it's a human-finger bone. dipped in the blood of the ones who yell out during "murder in the city". poetic, no?
You guys got black, blue AND if it's the beaches AND please pardon yourself?
I'd have probably died. No lie.

And if it compromises truth, then we will go.
Ur right on the perfect space. When the setlist didn't take on the first time I had to remember the last few songs. N forgot about that one. Where does it belong?
Observations from row L
I noticed that most of the folks around us were only familiar with I&L&Y or Emotionalism...although i would say the older stuff was well received. I would imagine that Travis was selling alot of their previous albums post-show. Nice set list...good mix of old & new. Was bummed that the only PF song was PGFC...I wouldn't be sad to see that one retired but that's just me. Joe Kwon, wow....everytime I see them live, I appreciate Joe more & more. He really adds something unique and beautiful to the songs. I think that they will be adding a drummer in the future. I believe that the direction that they're heading is going to require it. Oh...and Nicole Adkins. Man...what a amazing voice. Best opener they've had in 3 years, IMHO. Was it just me or was "the black sea" the remains of "the midnight shivers?" If not, they could be their dopplegangers.
Now...a rant.
Those of you that feel the need to yell out your unintelligilbe bable during a quiet melodic song (ie Black, Blue) so we can all know that you're special...wise up. You're not. There is a drunken idiot in every town that's as "special" as you. When you yelled repeatedly, all Seth & the rest of us heard was "Hey, I'm drunk and an a**hole." I believe I would be accurate in saying that most of us came to hear these wonderful men to play their amazing songs, not to hear your moronic hot air...so please, shut the f**K up and stop being so rude.
Thanks...

Be Kind, For everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
cbus trev why did they make you stop. Was it audio??
It must have been the Palace Theater's policy to not take video, even with a little point and shoot camera! They were serious about it too.
We were in the pit and the security guy was on top of anyone who filmed or even 'looked' like they were having fun.
OK, I'm only kind of kidding about the last part....
I did record most of "If It's the Beaches" with my camera while pretending to shoot photos, it was just too good to pass up
That show was *incredible*.
--
I gave to you my ugly brown coat, you made it pretty when you put it on....
It was the venue's policy. They were on top of it at the Ryman last night too. But I still managed to capture a few vids.

"I wonder which brother is better, which one our parents love the most...he said I love you and I'm proud of you both in so many different ways."
This was my first TAB show (absolutely loved it!). If anyone has any pictures or anything they can share with me (I didn't bring my camera), I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,

The Avetts are a rare talent, timeless yet current, and capable of singing straight to a single soul while broadcasting to the ever-increasing masses.
Thanks! And thanks very much for looking.
This was my 2nd TAB show, and it was more incredible than the first. "If It's the Beaches" was the first Avett's song that I ever heard and to hear them play it live as the encore was absolutely amazing (and completed a little bit of my life, haha) My best friend and I went and took another one of our good friends who had never really heard of/seen the Avett's before and we made a convert out of him.
Thanks for posting the setlist from a lovely evening in Louisville.
No problem Lafleur! My pleasure
And very nice pics Jasmine! Wish I would have taken my still since we moved up from CC to L, but didn't know we'd have that kinda luck
